The Seaweed is Always Greener

So I made a new Creative Team! I am so proud to be creating for Charmaine of Wyld Web Designs AND Jen of Graham Like the Cracker. I applied for Charmaine's CT and got a bonus! Jen and Charmaine combined their teams. I am very excited.

The first kit I have to show you is in the store today. It is a collab between these two fabulous designers and is called The Seaweed is Always Greener. I had such a great time with this kit. They did a fabulous job!! Here is my LO and their two previews. The previews are linked to the store where you can buy this fantastic kit! I hope you enjoy!

Oh, and you should definitely visit their blogs (Jen here and Charmaine here) to see what other members of the CT did. They might have QPs for you.

If I receive enough requests, I might make mine into a QP...

I was the punch line!

So a quick post about my day. It wasn't the worst day, but it certainly wasn't the best. My favorite moment though was right at the end of 5th period.

I had heard a joke on the radio and decided to tell my kids. I should tell you for those who don't know, that I am short. 5ft 1/4in. Several of my students are taller than me. Anyway, here is the joke.

What do you call a short psychic who just escaped from jail?

Without a pause, one of my students yells out, "Mrs. Huntsman!" I nearly fell out of my chair! The whole class erupted into laughter and I couldn't stop myself from laughing. So funny. I almost didn't tell them the whole punch line because they thought that one was so great. Anyway, the answer is "A small medium at large."

I think it is pretty clever. It is helpful though to know what a medium is and what it means to be "at large." Some of my students didn't know that, so as with all jokes...if you have to explain it, it isn't as funny!

I am trying to decide which Chocolate Mint page to give to you guys as a QP. Leave me a comment and tell me if you would like the Rascal page or the Picasso page.

Remember this kit from Stephanie I blogged about earlier?

Well it is in her store which you can go to if you click the preview above. Here are a couple of more LOs I have made with this great kit.
*note, I used a template by Jessica Sprague for this LO. It is from one of her classes I am taking right now.
I used a cut mask from the fabulous Liz of Designs by Liz. You can find her blog here!
If you go to her blog she has a great add-on freebie for you! Here is the preview. Click it to go download and leave her some love!!
Oh and if I haven't already told you enough good news, here is a flyer announcing all the fun coming up for National Scrapbooking Day! I am so excited! Hope to see you all in the forum completing all the challenges! The flyer is linked to the Stuff to Scrap blog. Enjoy! =) oh and a note, all the times are MST just so you know. Make sure you convert for your time zone!
Oh, and if you check back later....you might receive a little gift from me!

Rock Star Birthday

Shel has a new kit out today called Rock Star Birthday! It was a request from one of her CT members and I think it is GREAT! I LOVE the colors in it. I had a really fun time playing around with all her elements and papers.
I did the one page LO first and really liked it. Then I got to thinking, how would it turn out if I made it look like three different pages were on top of each other. So that is why i tried with the 2 pager. I don't know if I like the result. What do you think?

The preview is linked to her blog! Go and download this great freebie kit! =) oh and pssst...come back on Wednesday for my second freebie!

Chocolate Mint

So Steph of Scrappy Cocoa has another great kit in her store. It is called Chocolate Mint. I made this LO for a SS at Gingerscraps. This is Alex, my best friend's little boy. He was in the photo shoot LO from Boy Meets Girl.
I just love the colors in this. I am actually working on another LO with it right now and I will share it when I am done! Click on the preview to go to her store to buy!

Have a great evening!

Experiment

So today during 6th period I decided to do a little experiment. I was curious just how long it would take for my kids to settle down without me up front telling them to be quiet. Any guesses? Yesterday it took 25 minutes for them to calm down enough for us to our activity for the day. It took them 7 minutes today, I was actually impressed. And most of them participated in the activity. Now they are filling out their BINGO boards for vocab BINGO and I am curious how long it is going to take them to realize that we are not playing yet and that I am waiting. We will see how long it takes.

Sometimes I love my job. This is not one of those times.

Summer?? The weather isn't ready, but I am!

I am ready for the summer. Yesterday I said I did not want to complain....now I do! I had an awful afternoon with my kids! They were just nuts! I will be very glad when we finish the WASL testing and move on to normal days again. I usually do not have such awful days when we are on a normal schedule.

I am also hoping and praying (seriously, I know Heavenly Father understands my plea!) that most of my 6th period will decide to go to work with their parents tomorrow and give me a much needed break!!!!

Hurray for Take your son/daughter to work day!! Lets hope it works out for me!

Stuff to Scrap National Scrapbooking Day Party

Join us on Saturday, May 2nd for some great fun!! More info coming next week! Mark your calendars!

Boy Meets Girl

Ok, here are my LOs for this excellent collab by Stephanie and Brittany. The previews are linked to their blogs where you can go to download. I highly recommend it!
This first one is of Carter the day he was born. Kyle and Candy hadn't decided what they were going to name him yet, so I decided that this title was appropriate! =) I used a template by Laurie's Scraps for this LO. You can find her blog here. Isn't a great one? I really like her stuff. Go check her out!
Isn't Carter a cute name? I just love it. I think they made a good choice! I just love him. So adorable!
The LO above is of my best friend's 7 month old baby boy. he is just so cute too! They had professional pics taken and these are some of my favorites!

What are you waiting for? Go download!! =)

I suck! and an update

So I just totally forgot to post about Steph's newest kit, Boy Meets Girl. It is fabulous and I made three different layouts with it. I just can't believe I didn't think about posting the last couple of days. Hopefully Steph will forgive me. Unfortunately, I do not have my LOs on my work computer, otherwise I would do it now. You might be asking, why is she posting then? Well, I hope that by posting right now, I will remember to do it when I get home...we will see if it works!

Anyway, things are pretty good around here. Teaching is going well, but that is because we are WASL testing for the first 2 hours of every day. I hate to make the kids do too much after they have tested so long, so we are doing a bunch of different activities when they come to me for class. While it is nice to have the time in the morning, it will be nice to go back to normal. Especially since normal is quickly coming to a close...I love how May is so close. That means that June is close as well! I am so excited for the summer. This has been a difficult year. I will be very happy to have a break from these kids. It will be a relief. Most of them are good, but there are enough that annoy the heck out of me. I should clarify that I like all of my students, but some of the groupings of the students was not the best idea. Like my 6th period for example. Oh goodness what a horrible group all together!

I didn't mean to complain in this post. I am actually pretty happy at the moment. The weather is finally turning beautiful, I actually have a good friend that lives near me now instead of far away, I get to spend time with my husband, we have some fun plans coming up...We are going white water rafting over Memorial Day weekend. I can't wait!!! My two sisters-in-law had their babies and everyone is healthy. I wish I could meet Brielle, but I have Carter nearby to get my baby fix with. You will see Carter in the LOs I was supposed to show you yesterday and you will see Brielle whenever I get a picture of her!! Hint hint Tammy! =) Carter is just adorable. Very ethnic. I can't believe the love that I felt for him immediately! It was amazing! I am sure it is so much greater when the baby is your own.

Well I had better go! Kids are going to come in for class soon! Hopefully will be back later for my favorite kit yet!

A couple of things...

I am a little behind in my responsibilities, so let me quickly catch up.

First off, Stephanie made a beautiful brag book page out of her "Subtle" kit. Here is the preview to the pages and the full kit preview. Click the preview to go to her blog to download!

Next, Manda of Nibbles Skribbles will be hosting the next speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap this Saturday. It should be a blast!! Here is the flyer and the participation prize. She is such a great template maker! You should go visit her blog and see what she can do! Click on the flyer to go to the forum and the participation prize to go to her blog.

Butterflies Are Free, SS, and Pinochle!! =)

So today was really fun. We had Nick and Lydia over to watch conference and BBC's version of Pride and Prejudice. That was great! Nick had never seen this version, so we were excited to show it to him. We played several games of Pinochle while we watched. We played boys against girls AGAIN...and we won 2 of the 3 games. Lydia and I had 4 double pinochles while they had none. The boys just wont accept that their luck got us to say yes to their proposals, but that is all the luck they have. Frankly, I think they should be happy with that! LOL.

Anyway, Steph has a new freebie out this week. It is a collab with Ellay. It is called Butterflies are Free. I really liked the kit and I actually wanted to do more than one page, but since I ended up redoing my first one (because apparently I didn't save it although I am almost positive I did!) I didn't feel like doing the second one anymore. I also didn't have the pics I wanted. Someone took pictures of Brett and I dancing (like the ones of my friend in my LO below), so I thought it would be fun to have a double page. I just didn't get the pics in time. Oh well. The LO uses Steph's part of the kit, but I will post both previews and they are linked so go download!!
BTW, I used a template from someone in my class at Jessica Sprague. I can't remember the name right now....sorry! It is a GREAT template though. I love the big picture and then the little ones.

Also, there is a Speed Scrap coming to Stuff to Scrap, formerly Digi Designs by Nicole forum. Here is the flyer and the participation prize. The poster is linked to the forum. Hope to see you there!

Deanna has some great freebies on her blog! You should go check it out! The participation prize is linked to her blog....

Have a good night!

Subtle

I have been waiting and waiting to show you these LOs since I can't remember when. It has been awhile though. Stephanie of Scrappy Cocoa has started selling at Gingerscraps. I am so excited for her and for me since I get to play with her amazing stuff! Her first kit is called Subtle and it is beautiful. I made two LOs as you can see below and they are completely different. So this kit is pretty versatile, but with amazing colors!! Just look at this preview! It is linked to the store where you can go and buy it.

This heart frame is my favorite! I love it so much. Doesn't she do a fabulous job? The reason I couldn't wait to show these to you is because I just love this LO from Nick and Lydia's wedding. They look so happy and I love the Eternity brush I created. I was so proud of myself that I used some of the knowledge from my photoshop classes.

So I am totally loving the BEAUTIFUL weather we are having right now! I love having the windows rolled down when I drive and at home, I love hearing the birds chirp, and man, do I LOVE Spring!!! It is the best season ever. Finally it has arrived. I really thought it would never get here! The weather has put me in a fantastic mood if you couldn't tell.
Well I hope your Saturday has gone well so far and will continue to be great!
