New Week, New Kit!

Hello everyone! I am so happy today! I didn't have to wake up early and go deal with annoying 7th graders! Hallelujah for Spring Break! This week is going to be glorious and it will be over WAY too fast. Oh well. I will be thankful for what I have right now!
I don't really have any plans for Spring Break other than cleaning. Our bedroom still has boxes all around and our couch is not usable since we pile stuff on it all the time. I really want to get that all cleaned up so that we can actually move around our room and enjoy it. We made a really good start last night. Brett got the sound system all hooked up for our TV (my mom had all kinds of stuff that we were able to acquire when she moved in, so we didn't go buy a sound system....we inherited it! I just wanted to make that clear!=), I started our several loads of laundry that has been piling up since our dryer stopped working last week, we put tons of clothes away that I have been avoiding doing for several weeks, and we emptied several boxes. Not bad for about 6 hours of hard work last night. We have to finish the job today or it will never get done.
Once that is all done, we will be moving into our dining room. We have used that as a dumping ground and we really need to clear it out. It is driving my mom and I crazy!!
So not too special of plans...we were planning on trying out The Great Wolf Lodge (an indoor water park in Chehalis), but my mom told us that she was thinking about using some of her vacation club points for a condo or two in............MAUI and wanted to know if we wanted to join her. What a question!! We thought for about 2 seconds and then responded YES! SO we just booked our trip to Maui the other night and now I cannot wait until July!! This will be fun! It will be the four of us, my mom, sister, Brett, and I. We have two one bedroom condos, so Brett and I will have a place to ourselves. We are hoping that my brother can join us as well. A nice family vacation!
I looked up things to do in Maui online and found some really fun things. I really want to go kayaking and snorkeling. There were a couple of packages where you could do both. Just a funny note, all the things I thought sounded really fun and totally doable said that pregnant women are prohibited. So now I am thinking that I will probably be pregnant when we go just because of that! Wouldn't that be ironic! The only 9 days where I really DON'T want to be pregnant! I guess we will see what happens.
Onto the kit! Stephanie of Scrappy Cocoa and Nicole of Digi Designs by Nicole teamed up this week to bring you a great kit! It is called "Hello Easter." I loved the colors in this and as soon as I got it, I made my LO. I finished it in one night. It is of the precious Gabriel born to my best friend in the whole world on January 29. I miss him so much!! They came for a week and these pictures were taken on Sunday, February 22 for his baby blessing. His mom is not active in the church right now and his dad is not a member, but she wanted him to be blessed, so they flew home so that grandpa could bless him. I am praying that she will come back eventually. I am hoping that having this precious boy will help with that! I cannot wait until they move back here at the end of the summer. I miss that baby! Anyway, here is my LO and the two previews. The previews are linked to their blogs where you can go to download this great kit!
I used a template from someone in my Digi in Deep Class. Her name is SueG.

So they might not be posting until later tonight, so keep checking back!! I might actually be ahead today. Go figure. Normally I am late because of my job...=) Yea for Spring Break!

New Look

So I just learned how to create blog backgrounds...I am so excited! My first one is not the best, but I am still learning. I can accept that. I used the fabulous kit Painter's Quilt by Amber of Stolen Moments. If you scroll down a bit, you will find her blinky on the right.

Anyway, bear with me as I work to create a great new look! I will also be adding a blinky soon since Vicki is home and was able to teach me! =)

Have a great night!

Fairy Tale Wedding

I wasn't sure when this great kit was being released, but it is already all over scrapland...you probably have already seen it! But in case you haven't, there is a great new blog train going on called "Fairy Tale Wedding." It is a beautiful color scheme with some great creations. Stephanie participated in it, so I was able to play with her portion of the kit last week. It was so much fun! I really couldn't decide what embellishments to use. Now I have other peoples portions, so that will be exciting to play around with. Here is Steph's preview and the LO I made with it. I just love this picture of Jason and Nick at Nick's wedding. Too funny! Click on the preview to go to Steph's blog to download!!

Speed Scrap!

Stephanie of Scrappy Cocoa is hosting a speed scrap at her new store GingerScraps tonight!! Here is the flyer and the Participation Prize. I was planning on being there, but I forgot we are having dinner with my husband's brother and his wife. So you all will have to go for me and tell me all about it!! The flyer is linked to the forum!

Mimosa

Shel Belle Scraps has a new kit. I was supposed to post it last night, but I didn't have time...oops. Anyway, better late than never Shel right? I am sorry! My life has been taken over by my gymnasts! Alright, enough talking here is the great kit. It is called Mimosa. She fell in love with the colors in a color challenge. I love the colors too! Here is my LO and her preview. The preview is linked to her blog where you can go download.
I have really wanted to try to do an extraction, so I worked hard to figure out how to do it. I think I did well, don't you? Skylar was so much fun to hang out with for the few days we were in Utah. Hmm..I still have to blog about that trip don't I? Oh well. I might get to that soon. Gymnastics is winding down, thank goodness.

I got a chance to play around with one of my favorite designers newer kits. Amber of Stolen Moments has started selling kits instead of offering them all as freebies. This made me sad because up to that moment I had downloaded every single one of her kits. The nice thing is that generally her kits go on sale for $1 and I don't feel so bad about spending a dollar on something I will use. I bought her kit Growing Up and instantly made a LO with it. Here it is. Hope you like it!

A non scrapping post....

I know, this is unusual. But I haven't really had the time to do anything other than fulfill my CT duties. Today though I am actually ready for church with some time to spare, so I thought I would write a little update. I don't know how much I will be able to do, but we will see!

Where to start? How about with my most exciting news....I started my period again!! Now, some of you may be wondering why this is exciting or even worth mentioning. Let me explain the situation to you. I started birth control in December of 2006 as soon as Brett proposed to me and I knew we were going to be married in 2 months. You need to give it some time as you all know. Anyway, in the months after we got married, it became less and less predictable. I decided I needed to see the doctor about this because I want to get pregnant! When I scheduled my appointment, I hadn't had my period since November of 2007 and then luckily I started it right before my appointment in June of 2008. This was lucky because he was able to run some tests that need to be run 20 days after the period begins. The tests really gave him nothing to go on, they just meant that I did not ovulate. So, he prescribed me Clomid, a medicine that forces you to ovulate. The bad part was that I had to wait until my period decided to come again to even try it! Even then, the doctor did not know what dosage I would need to force the ovulation, so he told me it might take some time. Sucky. Anyway, I was able to take my first dose at the end of this January. They did blood work, it didn't make me ovulate, so onto a higher dosage. I settled in for a nice long wait until I could take the next batch. But, only 6 1/2 weeks later...here it came again. WHOO HOO!! That is why this is exciting. It would be very nice if my period would be predictable again and my body would function the way it is supposed to. That will make it much easier to get pregnant.

Well that was not as productive as I thought. I guess I will have to have a part 2 after church!

Coach

So Stephanie of Scrappy Cocoa has a new kit out called Coach. I had a really fun time playing with this. I had some things I wanted to do that I just couldn't make work right now, so I will probably do a second page. I think the subject will go well with a 2 pager. I scanned in my old gymnastics photos and I will put my newest photos on the second page. We are taking pictures on Friday, so I will get a pic of me with my beam girls. I am so proud of them today! We didn't win our meet, but all my beam girls scored higher than ever before. One girl FINALLY landed her handstand and cartwheel. It was so fun to see her do that. And another girl earned a 9.9!!! Isn't that great?!? I am so happy. We have one more meet before we go to districts. We will work really hard at practice to work on some of the small things that we are losing points on.

Anyway, here is my page and the preview! Click on it to go to Steph's blog to download. BTW, I did a bit of recoloring to make it Kilo's colors.

Shabby Spring

Just wanted to make a quick post about Steph of Scrappy Cocoa's latest kit. It is called Shabby Spring. The LO I made with it is in a previous post. It is a GREAT kit! I really like it. She is leaving it up for the next week since some people are pretty scared about 4shared. She has links to a non 4shared downloading site, so go to here and start downloading!

When I get some time I have some interesting stories. One is quite a doozy! I am just so busy that I don't even get time to scrap. I just come home, sit down and vegg for a little while and go to bed.

Hopefully I will be back soon with my adventures!
